Do you watch what you eat and exercise on a regular basis but find that you are struggling to lose weight, tone your body, or just to feel energized, but you are noticing that nothing you do seems to be working? Are you struggling through the day to stay awake, even after a full night of rest?

Does your mood change dramatically through out the day, one moment you are motivated and dedicated, then the next you are depressed, tired, stressed, or angry?

These questions are just a short list of the many possible symptoms resulting from hormonal imbalances. Even wrinkles, loose skin, eye sight deterioration, and muscle soreness can be attributed to hormone related issues. Many people do not understand how the internal workings of the body can play a major role in the quality of life. The general consensus is that you worry about your hormones when you get older, when you are going through menopause or andropause (male menopause), but until then, everything is fine and no reason to think about it. Even the symptoms that come with hormone imbalances are just thought of as signs of aging.

There is also a general idea that hormones cause cancer, but in actuality, watching your hormones and keeping them balanced prevents cancer. For instance to much estrogen in the body can result in ovarian and breast cancer ( yes, even men can get breast cancer if estrogen is to high ), to much DHT (Dihydro-testosterone) has been linked to prostate cancer.

People's understanding of hormones is that estrogen is the female hormone, testosterone is the male hormone, progestrone has something to do with the two other hormones, and Human growth hormone has something to do with aging, performance, and  movie stars and athletes use it. But people need to understand that all these hormones are present in everyone's body in varifing degrees; sometimes these hormones are not even being produced, depending on the severity of the hormonal imbalance.

If one hormone is too high in the body, then this can result in heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. If a hormone is to low, you can have excess weight gain, mental concentration problems, depression, lethargic feeling, joint pain, and bone density loss.

Right now we live in an exciting time in medical history, where we are just starting to understand the effects of hormones on the body and mind, and how through simple test we can fine these hormone imbalances and with treatment, return a person back to a normal healthy state and alleviate several symptoms almost over night. Hormone replacement therapy is not just for old people, but it is a necessary tool for teenagers to adults, from lightly active people to professional athletes.
